Our Goal
At Tikvah Toronto, women acquire the emotional, social and spiritual tools they will need to enhance their sense of self- reliance, self worth, dignity, faith and peace in their lives. We strive to provide women with an open and safe support system that promotes their ability to heal from domestic conflict. Our mandate is to support women experiencing marital conflict, navigating divorce and beyond.

PROFESSIONAL SUPPORTS

Our professional services are trauma-informed and overseen by a frum registered Social Worker with 25 years of experience in finding effective, positive ways to navigate difficulties in day-to-day life. We use a client centered, strength based, solution-focused and spiritual frame-work.
Individual Counselling: Women navigating marital conflict may have to deal with low self-esteem, stress, fear, depression and anxiety.
Individual counselling can help by providing new insight into the situation; reveal unhealthy patterns of behaviours; place greater focus on inner strengths and assist one to tap into further community supports.
Group Counselling: This includes aspects of psychoeducation and therapy. Participants share their experiences in a safe, supportive and confidential group space.
PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM

SISTERHOOD, MENTORSHIP, SUPPORT GROUPS & SINGLE MOTHER SUPPORTS
Our peer support program is a sisterhood network where frum women from our community provide both tangible and emotional supports for single mothers. Our tangible volunteer services include:
Assisiting with child care, carpools, homework clubs, grocery shopping etc to help relieve the pressure off single mothers.
Our Peer Support model is based on a “sponsorship” type dynamic where we aim to link a mom with a friend who is available to talk, provide warmth, support and can identify with her in a sensitive and confidential manner.
PEER SUPPORT GROUPS

Our peer support groups are led by an experienced group facilitator. This is an open and safe space for women to share their experiences, challenges and aspirations with other women in similar circumstances. Women will gain insight, chizuk and inspiration from one another.

LEGAL SUPPORTS & REFERRAL SERVICES
Our legal support program operates in collaboration with selected legal professionals in order to assist women in managing their legal fees and navigating the legal system.
Together with our team, we will support women in order to alleviate the stress and anxiety surrounding legal preparations and court dates. (Including childcare and meals during court appearances, accompaniment to court for emotional support).
SHABBOS & YOMTOV ARRANGEMENTS
CONNECTING FAMILIES
Let us help alleviate some stress after a long week. By matching mothers and their children up with host families, it creates a lovely opportunity for families to form community connections.
Sharing the warmth and tranquility of a Shabbos or Yomtov meal in a safe and welcoming setting will create beautiful memories for both the guests and their hosts.

WE USE A HOLISTIC, WOMAN CENTERED FRAMEWORK THAT PLACES VALUE ON WELLNESS, GROWTH (MIND, EMOTIONS & SOCIAL) AND SOUL (JEWISH LAW, LIFE-STYLE & VALUES)
